Coryphaeus Studios is a creative research and production company exploring the intersection of a half-century of photographic history with documentary truth and generative storytelling. Our inaugural project, Restoring the Light, blends documentary work with new cinematic forms, using advanced film tools to reveal the emotional worlds behind the archives of photographer and oral historian Mary Motley Kalergis.
Our Mission
Coryphaeus Studios is pioneering an animation process allowing fluidity between photoreal depiction and stylized interpretation — a modern “choral” method of illuminating story, truth, and memory. We are committed to:

Our lead project, Restoring the Light, is a hybrid documentary-fiction animated short film that explores how memory, art, and generative creativity converge. The film interweaves photoreal portraiture, graphite-sketch animation, and archival material to celebrate the legacy of documentary photographer Mary Motley Kalergis.
